Pack less liquid in your carry-on!
Travel hacks for packing light
Starting off with toothpaste. Tooth powder is something to get used to but will free up a bit of space in your liquids bag.
Lush Toothy Tabs ($10.95) comes in a variety of flavors and enough come in a small container for a 2 week trip.
The Dirt All Natural Tooth Powder ($9.99) Paleo, easy to use and enough for 6 weeks!
Shampoo – you can DIY your own shampoo bars or buy the old fashioned kind online! You probably won’t need shampoo if you are staying in regular hotels, but if you’re backpacking or hostel hopping, this is a great option.
J.R. LIGGETT’S BAR SHAMPOO ($16.03 for 3) You can break into pieces so you dont get the whole bar wet. Lush also has solid shampoos with a nice tin but a little more pricey.
If needed, dry shaving sheets. In a pinch, soap, shampoo, conditioner or lotion will also work!
Travelon Shave Sheets ($5.62)
If you need lotion when your travel, the bar kind is your friend. You can DIY your own or purchase.
Lush has ADORABLE massage bars (lotion) that melt at body temperature ($7.45 and up). Get the tin!($3.95)
Contact Lens Cases! Put serums, foundations, concealers and/or pills in these. $9.98 for a pack of 6 on Amazon.
Try to get sample sizes of makeup if you tend to bring a lot while traveling. Mary Kay and Avon have great sample lipstick and mascara if you have a rep. Try Sephora for amazing deluxe samples. Their regular sample sizes usually last me well over a week. And don’t forget about the fragrance ads from magazines! Those are great for laundry bags, shoe bags and useful for a quick refresh.
If you want little to no makeup maintenance, get your lashes tinted before you go, get a multi purpose product like Benetint cheek and lip stain ($30), and opt for tinted moisturizer with SPF. Try Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($42). For more ways to use a product in a variety of ways, check out my One Product, Multiple Uses post.
Best liquid to have on a plane? Face Mist! My favorite is the Vitamin E Face Mist ($16) from The Body Shop.
There are many DIY recipes out there that would work too. These mini misters work great and take up minimal space. Mini Mister 3 Pack $7.14.
