Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you have a wonderful day full of happiness and family. With half our lives in storage and a handful of my craft supplies, I still got me tree and filled it with adorable recycled bits. And it got me posting every day!

Most of the decorations will be recycled but a new I will keep – especially the little book!

Since I only had white paper, Christmas Day let me add some color to my tree with bows, ribbons and tags from gifts. And Lucy cat added her few decorations too…

Start with 5 strips of paper equal in width. One short strip, two  little longer equal in length, and two longest strips equal in length.

Gather the strips together and glue together at the bottom as pictured.

Glue the other end of the center strip and bring the second strip up to stick on to the center section.

Repeat on the other side.

Next, take the longest piece and adjust how much space you want in between the sections. Glue to the bottom and trim off excess.

Repeat on other side. 

Another way to do this is to gather each end and staple. Glue on your ribbon to hang! Try other shapes like circles, hearts, teardrops and more!

Another craft for those left over strips!

Thick strips work best. It’s ok if the edges aren’t perfect.

Start rolling the strips leaving a little hole in the center. About halfway down a pencil tip. You’ll need to be able to fit one side of scissors in there.

Tape your roll closer to one end.

Insert one side of the scissors in the center and start making cuts down the roll. About 3/4 of the way down the roll.

This was a rather thick one so I started with 4 cuts. You can make more as you start floofing out the pieces.

Start curling from the bottom using your nail, rolling on a pen or with the side of scissors. Keep taking a piece or two at a time and curling and flaring out.

Cut larger pieces to flare out easier and to fluff it up some more. 

And that’s all!

Your pom pom is ready for the tree.
